Presentation of the new MONILOG® GasSensor at 16th LITHIUM BATTERIES CONFERENCE in Göttingen 2023

We took part in this year's Lithium Batteries Conference in Göttingen and presented the brand-new MONILOG® GasSensor to a specialist audience for the first time. With an integrated highly sensitive sensor, critical states of lithium batteries can be detected before the dreaded thermal runaway.

TRANSPORT. STORAGE. DISPOSAL. of lithium batteries was the focus of the event. There are many approaches to limit the risk of a fire in the course of a battery life. These include new classification rules, a wide range of fire protection concepts, new standards, but also the early detection of a hazardous situation. The 16th Lithium Batteries Conference organized by the journal fokus GEFAHR/GUT sheds light on all aspects.

Our expertise was brought in by Dr. Ronny Leuschner, who presented measurement results of practical tests with the MONILOG® GasSensor in his lecture. He juxtaposed these values with values that were so far elaborately determined in the laboratory and published in the literature.

The leaking gas mixtures of defective, unsafe lithium batteries could always be safely detected before a thermal runaway. Industrial applications require not only the detection of the damage event, but also information about it. With the associated software MONILOG® GasSensor Control, alarms are transmitted in fire alarm systems, so that defective batteries can be quickly detected and removed from hazardous areas.

The first MONILOG® data loggers are already installed and in use by customers.
